March 2008

Scarlett turned 2 months old on March 17th and we can't believe she is that old already!

On Tuesday, I took Scarlett to the Pediatrician for her 2 month check up and Dr. Z said she is doing fabulous. She weighed in at 11 lbs and 4 oz. and she is 22 1/2 inches long. It's always nice as a mom to know that your efforts are paying off!
Scarlett also had to get shots...3 of them! Do you know how sad that was? I have never seen Scarlett as sad as she was then. It was so heartbreaking that I even cried! The nurse assured me that it was ok and lots of moms cry. Poor little Scarlett.

So now 2 months in I have adjusted quite well to motherhood. With all the ups there are always the downs. One of my "downs" is that I have become slightly crazy. Before I became a mom (and prego) I always thought I had everything together. Now, it's not the case. So, I thought I would share with you a couple of my crazy moments. First off it started out as a normal day at home...washing clothes, watching 4 hours of the Today show, taking care of my precious baby girl and then of course, washing dishes. Scarlett was down for a nap so I was quickly trying to get some dishes done. Well, Scarlett woke up crying that she was hungry and my phone began to ring (I am sure that it was my sister Rebekah) so I left the dishes. Well about 20 mins. into a nursing session I thought to myself...I didn't leave the water running did I? Of course not...I don't do silly absent mind things like that. Then I had this crazy urge to go check and low and behold the sink was running over with water into the other side. I am glad that sink designers thought to make the lip in between the two sides slightly lower for crazy people like me.
    Story number 2:
Scarlett and I were out shopping in Roseville on a lovely spring day. All you mother out there know that shopping with children no longer is a leisurely activity. Of course it's a race to see how much you can get done while you still have a happy child. First we went to Babies R Us and that went pretty well. After that we headed over to Macy's. I took my time trying to find a parking spot really nice and close. Mission accomplished I was putting Scarlett in her stroller. Blanket - Check...Diaper Bag - Check...Purse - WHERE IS MY PURSE! In a panic I load every thing back up and race over to Babies R Us (crossing a very busy road and driving way to reckless and fast with an infant) we get to the parking lot and there it is...my coach bag with quite a bit of cash is happily sitting in the sun in a cart outside the store just waiting for someone to call it their own. You do not know how happy I was to see it.

Cousin Cara:  Oh Bridget! I have heard that a woman leaves half her brain in the delivery room, so... that must be where mine is. Maybe yours too???? :) Love ya! C- you soon!
Tanya:  Welcome to motherhood! I am SOOO glad that you got your purse back! What a scare I am sure! And don't worry about the shots...I think that I cried more than Alex the first time! I think that it's harder on us because we know what's coming so it makes it all the worse. I still cry when he gets his shots...I can't even watch him get them! So you truly are not the only crazy mom out there! :) Although I've never left the water running or my purse....ha ha ha
Kels:  Oh, it's so good to know I am not the ONLY crazy mother out there! Haha, j/k, Bridget you sound like you are doing the most fabulous and amazing job with your new occupation as
